The Rise of Contactless Smart Locks in Modern Homes

Smart home technology is evolving rapidly, and newer generations of digital locks are going beyond basic features. In Singapore, more homeowners are now looking at contactless unlocking and fire-rated protection when upgrading their home security.

Unlike older models that rely mainly on fingerprints or PIN codes, modern smart locks now offer 3D facial recognition and palm vein authentication, allowing users to unlock their doors without physical contact. This provides added convenience while improving hygiene and ease of use for daily living.

At the same time, fire-rated digital locks are becoming increasingly important, especially for HDB and condo homes. Fire-rated doors are designed to withstand high temperatures for a certain period, and compatible digital locks ensure that safety standards are not compromised during emergencies.

Some newer smart locks also come with built-in cameras and real-time monitoring, allowing homeowners to see who is outside and receive instant alerts through mobile apps.

As smart living continues to grow in Singapore, the combination of contactless access and fire-rated safety is quickly becoming a key consideration for modern homes.
