Q: Is SINGGATE Digital Door Lock safe?
A:
 Our Digital Door Locks are Anti-Black Box designed to prevent electromagnetic radiation interference.
All Digital Door Locks are equipped with C-Class Security Lock Cylinder similar to a safe box that prevents prying.

Q: What are the advantages of SINGGATE digital door lock?
A:
 All of our Digital Door Lock uses fingerprint learning A.I. Biometric Sensor instead of the Error-prone LED Optic Sensor. Furthermore, you can start up our locks using a power bank / laptop when the battery runs flat instead of a 9V Battery. The Lock's scramble code feature helps to prevent your passcode from being exposed if there's someone around.

Q: Where is SINGGATE Smart Door Lock manufactured? When did the brand launch?
A:
 SINGGATE is a local Singapore Brand. Parts are all assembled in Singapore. Our support and installation team are also based locally. In addition, we have been providing excellent product and service to the customer since Oct 2018.

Q: Who should get a digital door lock?
A:
 For those people who wants a convenient way of securing your home, with a digital door lock you can spend lesser time to lock and unlock your door. Additionally,  there won’t be a need to use a key as well. So for all those people who forget to bring your keys out regularly, it won’t be a problem for you to enter or exit your home.

Q: How do I reserve a lock of my choice / promotion deal?

 All you have to do is to place a $100 deposit per lock to reserve your choice of digital door lock / promotion deal

Our office showroom is open for walk-in visits from Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm.
For Saturdays, visits are via appointment only.

Q: How long does your installation take?
A: 
For our wooden digital door lock it will takes about 2 hours to install, and as for our metal gate digital door lock it will takes about 1 hour to install.

Q: What type of battery do SINGGATE digital door locks use?
A:
Our SINGGATE digital door locks are powered by high-performance lithium batteries, designed for stable and long-term use in Singapore's climate.
Batteries are included with every purchase, so your lock is ready to use right out of the box.

Q: How long does the battery last?
A:
On average, the battery lasts 2-3 months, depending on usage frequency.
For added peace of mind, all SINGGATE locks are equipped with low-battery alerts, giving you ample time to replace the batteries before power runs low.

Q: How many faces, palms, fingerprints, PINs, or access cards can be registered?
A:
SINGGATE digital locks support up to 100 user access credentials, including fingerprints, PIN codes, and card keys (model-dependent).
This makes our locks ideal for families, rental units, and multi-user households in HDB, Condo, or Landed properties.

Q: How does the mechanical key work? Can it be turned both directions?
A:
The mechanical override key is designed to turn in a single direction (depending your opening direction) for security consistency and mechanical reliability.
Comes with key serves as an emergency backup and should only be used when necessary.

Q: What if I forget to lock the door? Can someone enter freely?
A:
No. SINGGATE digital locks use a free-handle security design, meaning the handle remains locked unless proper authorisation (fingerprint, PIN, card, or app) is verified.
Without authorised access, the door cannot be opened — ensuring your home stays secure at all times.

Q: Are SINGGATE digital door locks water-resistant?
A: 
Yes. Our digital door locks are water-resistant and suitable for daily use in Singapore’s humid and rainy environment.
They are designed to withstand light rain and splashes commonly experienced at residential entrances.

Q: Where should I keep my emergency mechanical keys?
A: 
Emergency mechanical keys should be stored separately from the door, such as with a trusted family member or in a secure location.
For security reasons, SINGGATE does not keep any master keys or duplicates, ensuring full ownership and privacy for our customers.

 TROUBLESHOOTING 

Q: Why does fingerprint verification sometimes fail?
Fingerprint recognition may be affected by moisture, oil, dirt, or improper scanning angle.
For best results, we recommend:
• Cleaning both your finger and the biometric sensor with a dry cloth
• Registering the same finger at multiple angles and positions
• Registering more than one fingerprint as a backup
This ensures higher accuracy and smoother daily use of the biometric system.

Q: What happens if my digital door lock runs out of battery? Will I be locked out?
A:
No — you will never be locked out with SINGGATE.

All SINGGATE digital locks are equipped with multiple backup access methods:
• External emergency power terminal (Micro-USB to Type-C) to power the lock using a power bank or laptop
• Mechanical override key for emergency entry

This multi-layer safety design ensures uninterrupted access to your home.


Q: How do I properly charge the battery pack?
A:
To charge the battery pack, remove it from the back panel of the lock and charge it using the supplied cable (Micro-USB to Type-C, model-dependent).

For safety and battery longevity, please follow the recommended charging method.
Improper charging or mishandling may affect battery performance and warranty coverage.

Q: My battery drains quickly even after replacement. What should I do?
A:
This may occur if the battery compartment is not properly secured.

Please check that the battery cover is firmly in place.
If necessary, ensure the batteries are snugly fitted to maintain stable power contact.
If the issue persists, our local technical team will be happy to assist.

Q: What should I do if I lose my RFID card?
A:
If an RFID card is lost, simply access the admin menu and delete the corresponding user ID to immediately disable that card.

For easier management, we recommend noting the user ID on the card itself during setup.

Q: What does “system lock” mean after multiple failed attempts?
A:
For security reasons, the lock may temporarily enter system lock mode after several unsuccessful unlocking attempts.

If this happens:
• Use an alternative access method (PIN code, RFID card, or mechanical key) to enter
• Once inside, re-register your fingerprint at different angles or register additional fingerprints

This feature prevents unauthorised access while still ensuring authorised users can regain entry.

 WARRANTY 

Q: How long is the warranty, and what does it cover?
A:
All SINGGATE digital locks come with a 2-Year Official Local On-Site Warranty, unless otherwise stated.

Our warranty covers:
• Parts and labour for functional defects
• On-site servicing by our Singapore-based technical team

Please note that the warranty does not cover cosmetic wear and tear or damages caused by misuse.

Unlike parallel import products, our warranty is handled locally in Singapore, ensuring faster response times and peace of mind. Warranty Terms


Q: What happens if my lock has an issue during the warranty period?

A: If you encounter any issues, simply contact our support team. In some cases, we may request a short video or photo to help our technicians diagnose the problem more efficiently before arranging on-site assistance.

This allows us to resolve most issues faster and ensure your home security is restored promptly.

 INSTALLATION

Q: How soon can installation be arranged after I place my order?
A:
Once your purchase is confirmed, our SINGGATE team will contact you within the next working day to arrange your installation.

To ensure a smooth and accurate installation, our team may request photos of your door or gate in advance.
Installation scheduling is subject to availability.

Installation Hours:
Monday – Saturday: 9:30am – 6:00pm

Q: What happens if I am unavailable when the installation team arrives?
A:
Customers are required to be present at the scheduled installation time.

If the installation cannot proceed due to unavailability, a $50 trip charge will apply to cover technician travel and time costs.
If you need to reschedule or require further consultation, please contact us in advance.

Q: Are there any additional installation charges?
A:
Our pricing is transparent, and standard installation is included.
However, additional charges may apply in certain situations, including:

     • Installation outside normal installation hours
     • Locations requiring special security clearance (e.g. military camps, shipyards, airports,         cruise terminals, restricted facilities)
     • Unconventional or customised wooden doors with special designs
     • Metal doors or non-standard door structures

Q: What if there are existing holes after removing my old lock?
A: 
For mortise or push-pull digital lock installations, existing lock sets, handles, or long pull bars may be removed.

Any exposed screw holes will be covered with putty for a clean finish.
Please note that varnishing or door repainting is not included as part of the standard installation.
